Little Miss Tri-City 2007

Tri-City Speedway will be holding their first annual Little Miss Tri-City competition during the 2007 season. Four lucky little girls will be chosen to help out as a Trophy Girl at any one of the following events this year: Fed-Ex 50, Mid-Season Championship, Summer Nationals, or Mod Challenge. Then all four girls will make their final appearance at the Season Championship. The girls will be chosen on Sat. May 19th and will be crowned together on Fri. Tri-City Speedway postpones season opener till April 13th due to cold weather!

Tri-City Speedway readies for 2007 season with new track and bigger payouts!

Pontoon Beach, IL (March 31, 2007) Tri-City Speedway continues to prepare for the 2007 racing season as work continues on finishing the new track. The half-mile and quarter-mile tracks have been re-configured into one 3/8 mile track. There is all new Musco Lighting being installed and the concrete wall around the outside of the track is just about complete. Dynamic Transit signs on as Modified sponsor at Tri-City Speedway!

Pontoon Beach, IL (March 30, 2007) Dynamic Transit of Granite City, IL has joined Tri-City Speedway's growing list of sponsors. Dynamic Transit has over 300 trucks carrying a wide variety of goods up and down our nations highway's. Dynamic Transit will become the title sponsor of the Open Wheel Modified division and in 2007 the modifieds will be racing for $700 to win & $100 to start for all regular weekly events this season. Tri-City Speedway 2007 season to get start one week later than planned!

Pontoon Beach, IL (March 20, 2007) Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL has decided to push the start of their 2007 racing season back one week. Inclement weather over the last week has delayed construction on concrete wall that is going up around the new 3/8 mile oval. (more…)

Tri-City Speedway announces big plans for 2007!

Pontoon Beach, IL (November 15, 2006) Tri-City Speedway has some big changes in store for the 2007 racing season. The biggest change comes will be the racing surface itself. Tri-City Speedway will be reconfigured from the current two track configuration, a 1/2 mile and 1/4 mile track, into one 3/8 mile track. The existing 1/4 mile track will be extended out at each end to make it into a 3/8 mile track. The new track will feature a concrete wall completely around the outside of the track and have all new lighting. (more…)

Tri-City Speedway announces HARD CHARGER Award for the 2007 racing season!

Pontoon Beach, IL (November 16, 2006) Tri-City Speedway is pleased to announce the STLRACING.COM Hard Charger Award. The STLRACING.COM Hard Charger Award will give the race car driver that advances the most positions in the feature event an additional $200. The STLRACING.COM Hard Charger Award winner each week will be determined by the driver that advances their finishing position the most position from their assigned starting position in the main event. Tri-City Speedway will be switching their regular race nights to Friday nights in 2007!

Racing will start at 7:30pm on regular race nights! More details will be announced soon on the switch to Friday nights! Construction has also begun on building a new 3/8 mile oval that will be banked approximately 12 degrees in the turns. The current 1/2 and 1/4 mile tracks are being eliminated to make way for the 3/8 mile track.
