U.M.P. Summer Nationals invade Tri-City Speedway on Friday, July 4th!

Pontoon Beach, IL (July 1, 2008) The U.M.P. DIRTcar Summer Nationals will roar into Tri-City Speedway on Friday, July 4th. Ten thousand dollars will go to the winner of the forty lap main event featuring some of the fastest super dirt late models in the country. Dennis Erb or Carpentersville, Illinois and Brian Shirley of Chatham, Illinois are currently in a dead heat as they battle for the 2008 U.M.P. Lt. Robert Cooney Memorial Benefit Auction!

Tri-City Speedway is joining with the St. Louis racing community to benefit a worthy cause with a silent auction for Lt. Robert Cooney who died due to an off duty accident at his home. He was the Commander of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Dept. SWAT, Canine and Hostage Response Team. He was the ACE trainer for SWAT and Hostage Response Team for our country. He was also Tri-City track officials Carolyn and Gordon Mays nephew. He would have retired in one year. Since he died at home there are no organizations to provide for his family's future. [...]

World of Outlaws Event at Tri-City Speedway Postponed Until June 8 by Rain

Pontoon Beach, IL May 9, 2008Record rainfall over the last week has left Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach , Illinois flooded, forcing the postponed of the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event scheduled for Friday, May 9. Over six inches of rain has fallen over the last couple of days, with persistent rain continuing throughout the day today. The event has been rescheduled for Sunday, June 8. (more…)

MARS DIRTcar Late Model Series kicks off 2008 at Tri-City Speedway & Lake Ozark Speedway!

St. Charles, MO (April 11, 2008) The MARS DIRTcar Series will get the 2008 racing season underway on Friday, April 18th at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL and then move on to Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, MO on Saturday, April 19th. Defending MARS DIRTcar Series Champion Bill Frye along with other MARS DIRTcar Series competitors such as Terry Phillips, Will Vaught, Jeremy Payne, Jack Sullivan and more are expected to take on some of tough U.M.P. NHRA Drivers Do’n It In the Dirt at Tri-City Speedway on Thursday, May 1st

Pontoon Beach, IL - February 18, 2008 - Some of the top NHRA drivers in the country will be trying to figure out how to go in circles instead of just heading straight down the drag strip when they come to Tri-City Speedway and race U.M.P. DIRTcar Pro Late Models around the 3/8 mile dirt oval. Dupont becomes title sponsor of Gold Crown Midget Nationals at Tri-City Speedway!

Pontoon Beach, IL (February 6, 2008) Tri-City Speedway is proud to welcome Dupont aboard as the title sponsor for the Gold Crown Midget Nationals. One of the biggest paying events in the history of Tri-City Speedway, the "Gold Crown Midget Nationals" takes place on October 9th, 10th and 11th.
