World of Outlaws Event at Tri-City Speedway Postponed Until June 8 by Rain

Pontoon Beach, IL — May 9, 2008—Record rainfall over the last week has left Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach , Illinois flooded, forcing the postponed of the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event scheduled for Friday, May 9.

Over six inches of rain has fallen over the last couple of days, with persistent rain continuing throughout the day today. The event has been rescheduled for Sunday, June 8.

After a sixth-place finish last weekend at Knoxville Raceway, Craig Dollansky continues to lead the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship standings. The native of Elk River , Minnesota has won twice this season and has finished sixth or better in every race this season.

Jason Meyers is second in points, just 12 markers behind. He leads the series with three A-Feature wins and has finished in Top-10 in each race this season.

Donny Schatz, the two-time defending series champion is third, and closed to within 20 points after his win at Knoxville last weekend. Joey Saldana is fourth, with reigning Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Kerry Madsen rounding out the Top-Five.

Steve Kinser, the 20-time defending series champion is sixth in points, after a fourth-place finish last weekend, with Jac Haudenschild in seventh, Terry McCarl eighth, Chad Kemenah ninth and Daryn Pittman 10th.

The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series returns to action on Saturday, May 10 at Paducah International Raceway in Paducah , Kentucky .
