The race got off to an odd beginning when one of the favorites to win, Brian Birkhofer, lost his left front tire as the cars rolled out onto the racetrack to lineup for the main event. He took home the $10,000 payday in winning the "Budweiser 50". Pearson withstood a mid-race challenge from several drivers as he went on to lead all 50 laps of the event. Pontoon Beach, IL (May 16, 2008) Dewayne Kiefer of Ste. Genevieve, MO claimed his first Super Late Model feature victory against a tough field of competitors at Tri-City Speedway. With all the rain during the week, the track was wicked fast. Although there were no real holes in the track to make it rough, there ripples through the turns that made the track very challenging to drivers.
