Pontoon Beach, IL (May 23, 2008) Two time and defending Tri-City Speedway Super Late Model Champion Bryan Collins led only two laps of the main event, but they were the most important two laps, the last two! Collins, driving a borrowed machine from Randy Korte, started sixth in the main event and fought lap after lap with Rusty Griffaw and Billy Faust. Griffaw jumped out to the lead on the opening lap from his front row outside starting position and battled with pole sitter Faust for the lead lap after lap. Collins began his charge towards the front and was up to third by lap ten and then he would take the second spot from Faust a few laps later. Griffaw led the first twenty-three laps while holding off the fierce challenges of Collins and Faust. A caution with three laps remaining would tighten up the field and Collins took advantage and finally made the pass stick for the lead just one lap after the restart. Faust would also get past Griffaw to finish second. Mark Burgtorf moved into the battle on the final restart and would also get by Griffaw on the final lap to take third. Griffaw would wind up with a fourth place finish and Mark Voigt completed the top five.
Ray Walsh won his second consecutive Modified feature event, almost in identical fashion to how he won the first one just a week ago. Mike Harrison jumped out to the lead and the drop of the green flag and led in convincing fashion. However, just like last week, while under a caution, Harrison's car suffered mechanical problems forcing him to retire from the event and just like last week, turned the lead over to Walsh. Walsh went on to dominate the last half of the race, leading by as much as a straight-away over second place. The real battle was for the second spot, as four cars battled for second in the closing laps. Brent Mullins would get past Chad Kinder to finish second with Kinder coming home third. Jared Landers, of Blackwell, Arkansas thrilled the fans as he came all the way from the ninteenth starting position to finish fourth. Bobby Martintoni completed the top five.

The UMP Pro Late Model division found things tough going during the main event as caution after caution forced the event to be called after only six laps due to going past the scheduled time limit. Bobby Dauderman would earn the victory with Nick Lyons taking second. Daniel Heck, Brant Kehrer and Jon Ridgeway completed the top five. A post race engine tech of the top five finishers was done and all five were found to be legal.

Josh Jackson took an exciting victory in the UMP Street Stock division over Danny Ems. The two swapped the lead on several occassions and battled for the lead the entire fifteen laps. Andy Beavers, Richie Gabriel and Steve Leach rounded out the top five.

Bob Zbinden claimed his second Factory Stock victory at Tri-City Speedway in 2008 with Jason Schmidt taking second. Chris Williams took the third spot with Zach Bowles finishing fourth and Jacob Buechting fifth.
