Pontoon Beach, IL (June 5, 2009) Mark Voigt of Marine, IL claimed his first Super Late Model main event of the 2009 racing season at Tri-City Speedway. Voigt took the lead at the drop of the green flag and led the entire twenty-five lap main event. Voigt's only challenges came on the restarts after a couple of different caution periods when Rodney Melvin mounted a challenge briefly. Bryan Collins stormed up to second place and then proceeded to challenge Voigt for the lead, but Collins attempt would come to an end as he jumped the cushion in turn four late in the race and slapped the outside retaining wall which would end his night. Melvin would finish second behind Voigt with Billy Laycock mounting a late race charge to finish third. Chad Zobrist recovered from ignition problems in heat race to finish fourth in the feature with Rick Salter rounding out the top five.
Scott Weber and Robbie Eilers put on a great show for the fans as the two raced side-by-side for much of the event as they battled for the lead. Weber ran on the very bottom of the track while Eilers used the very top. Eilers run would end just a few laps from the finish as mechanical problems caused him to slow down the front stretch. On the restart, Weber proved too strong for new challenge Bobby Regot as Weber pulled away in the final three laps to take the victory. Regot would take second with John Stanton finishing third. Marty Smith, Jr. would finish fourth with Mike Harrison completing the top five.

Gordy Gundaker claimed his first ever feature win in the UMP Pro Late Model division. Gundaker, who started eighth in his heat race, went to the top and passed the entire field to pick up a victory in his heat race, which gave him a front row starting spot for the main event. Gundaker proceeded to pull away to a big lead in the main event but as the event began to wind down, 2008 Track Champion Bobby Dauderman began to run down Gundaker. Dauderman closed the gap which each passing lap and was right on Gundaker's rear bumper as they took the white flag. As they went down the back stretch for the final lap, Dauderman drove in under Gundaker into turns three and four, but Gundaker was too strong as they exited turn four coming down to take the checkered flag. Daniel Heck would finish third with Casey Montague fourth and Bobby Martintoni fifth.
