Tri-City Speedway Next Stop for American Modified Series Presented by Force for Earth Fuel on April 16

GLASGOW, Ky. — After the much anticipated debut of the American Modified Series presented by Force for Earth on April 2, the newly formed series is set to present its next event on Friday April 16 at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL. The event will feature at 30 lap A-Main and will pay the AMS feature winner $1,500 and pay $200 to start.

Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL will be the site of the series next event on Friday evening April 16. Events at Tri-City Speedway on Friday April 16 will include practice, one lap of SPEC Race Engines group time trials, Wehr’s Machine and Racing Products, PPM Racing Products, Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil, Wiles Driveshafts, Hypercoil Springs, and Willy’s Carbs qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 30 lap/$1,500 to win, $200 to start A-Main. Also in action at Tri-City Speedway on April 16 will be the National All Star Racing Association versus the UMP DIRTcar Monster Midwest Late Model Series Tour in a 35 lap, $3,000 to win event and UMP DIRTcar Pro Crate Late Models.

Activities for the April 16 Tri-City Speedway date will see the pit area open at 4:30 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m. The driver’s meeting will be at 6:00 p.m., with practice immediately after the drivers meeting, followed by group qualifying time trials at 7:00 p.m., with racing immediately following time trials. All times are CDT. Ticket prices for this event will be $18 for adults, children ages 12 and under are free, and $30 in the pit area, with children ages 12 and under in the pit area for only $10.

The A-Main purse for the Friday April 16 Tri-City Speedway event is as follows: 1st- $1,500, 2nd- $1,000, 3rd- $800, 4th- $700, 5th- $600, 6th- $575, 7th- $550, 8th- $525, 9th- $500, 10th- $400, 11th- $350, 12th- $300, 13th- $275, 14th- $250, 15th through 24th- $200 to start.

Tri-City Speedway is a 3/8 mile clay oval promoted by Kevin and Tammy Gundaker. The American Modified Series presented by Force for Earth Fuel debuted on April 2 at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY and Clifty, KY native Randle Sweeney topped a 38 car field to score the inaugural series win and is also the tour’s current points leader.
