Pontoon Beach, IL (August 28, 2005) Defending UMP Late Model National Champion Rodney Melvin of Benton, IL raced to his second straight UMP Late Model win at Tri-City Speedway. Melvin, who led the entire twenty-five lap main event fought off the challenges of Steve Sheppard enroute to claiming the win. Pontoon Beach, IL (October 1st, 2010) Darren Hagen backed up his opening night preliminary win at the Dupont Gold Crown Midget Nationals by winning again on the second night of preliminaries. Hagen started fourteenth in the main event and drove his RFMS Racing owned Liberty Village/McGladrey & Pullen Spike/Esslinger Ford past Jerry Coons for the lead on lap fifteen and held off Coon's challenges to regain the lead to earn the victory in the twenty-five lap main event.
