Pontoon Beach, IL (July 9, 2010) Michael Long of Quincy, Illinois claimed the $1,000 winner’s check as he piloted his UMP DIRTcar Modified to victory at Tri-City Speedway. Long appeared to be on his way to a relatively easy dominating win as he opened up a full straight-away lead on the competition, but a caution on lap seventeen of the twenty lap main event would erase the big lead. On the restart, Tommie Seets, Jr. would challenge Long for the lead and would actually move past Long for the lead as they battle through turns three and four on lap eighteen. However, Long would drive back under Seets down the front stretch and retake the lead and hold off Seets for the win. Mike Harrison would claim third while Jeff Leka made a late race dash past several cars to finish fourth. Ray Walsh would round out the top five.

The UMP DIRTcar Extreme Sportsman Challenge Series made their only scheduled appearance at Tri-City Speedway in 2010 and they didn’t disappoint as three different drivers lead the twenty-lap main event that paid $750 to the winner. Danny Ems paced the field early on, but he would have a heard of cars on his bumper trying to take the top spot away. Ryan Eilers would wrestle the top spot away and lead for several laps before Brad Paquet would use the high side to drive past Ryan Eilers for the lead. Russell Eilers would also move past Ryan Eilers for the second spot and keep the pressure on Paquet. It turned into a three-way battle for the lead between Paquet, Russell Eilers and Ryan Eilers until mechanical problems would sideline Russell Eilers in the closing laps. Ryan Eilers would make a serious challenge for the lead in the final two laps, pulling along side Paquet through the turns, but Paquet would hold him off and take the win. Ryan Eilers would finish second with Robbie Eilers taking third. Mark Bohnenstiehl would claim the fourth spot while Dustin Knerrer completed the top five.

Danny Ems would get redemption in the Street Stock feature as he claimed his first Street Stock main event of 2010 at Tri-City Speedway. Jimmy Bell led the race early on, but Ems would get past on lap five. Ems appeared to be on his way to a comfortable win, but Tommy Gegg made a late race charge and would battle Ems for the top spot in the final two laps. Gegg would actually pull along side Ems for the lead on lap fourteen, but Ems was able to hold him off and get the win. Gegg would finish second with Andy Beavers, Fred Sparks and Terry McCann rounding out the top five.
