Pontoon Beach, IL (May 2, 2008) After having the first five racing events cancelled due to rain to start the 2008 racing season, Tri-City Speedway was able to complete back-to-back nights of racing even after heavy rain earlier in the day.
Billy Faust of Lebanon, IL put on a dominating performance in the Super Late Model division to earn his second victory in as many nights at Tri-City Speedway. Faust led every lap of the main event and took the checkered flag more than a half track ahead of second place finisher Rodney Melvin. For the second straight night, Dewayne Kiefer found himself in the middle of a contraversy. On Thursday night he was spun by the leader as he was being lapped, in which the leader was then sent to rear of the field for the restart. On this night, Kiefer was having a much better run. He was battling for the second spot with Rusty Griffaw when Griffaw did a bit of a slide job on Kiefer to take the second spot. Kiefer then proceeded to give Griffaw some hard taps down the back stretch and then Kiefer spun in turn three after making more contact with Griffaw. After the caution came out, Kiefer proceeded to drive the wrong way down the back stretch and he slowed, drove head on over the left front nose of Griffaw's car. As the two were stopped, Griffaw backed up, then Kiefer proceeded to hit Griffaw's car in the left rear side. The impact was at a very low speed. Officials disqualified Kiefer from the event. Griffaw's car had left front fender damage and the fender proceeded to hung in his left front tire and eventually ripped itself away from the car. Griffaw would be able to finish the race, but slipped to a fourth place finish as Rodney Melvin took second and Bryan Collins was third. Chad Zobrist would complete the top five.

The modified division appeared like it was also going to be repeat of the night before as Mike Harrison (winner on Thursday), jumped out to a comfortable lead. The caution flag would fly on lap ten when Bobby Regot III blew out a right rear tire and left large chunks of the tire on the back stretch. During this caution period, Harrison pulled off the race track and retired from the event. That turned the lead over to Tommie Seets, Jr. who held off Ray Walsh to claim the victory. Bobby Martintoni would finish third with Brent Mullins and Scott Weber rounding out the top five.

Bobby Dauderman of Alhambra, IL led all twenty laps of the UMP Pro Late Model feature event to earn his first ever UMP Pro Late Model victory at Tri-City Speedway. Kevin Hardin worked his way up to a second place finish. Tyler Diebert took the third spot with Shannon Kuhn fourth and Darrell Moser completed the top five.

Josh Jackson sprinted to victory in the UMP Street Stock division over Richie Gabriel. Andy Beaver finished third with Tommy Gegg taking fourth and Robbie Benson fifth.

Bob Zbinden dominated the UMP 4 Cylinder (Factory Stock) division as he led every lap enroute to victory over Jason Schmidt.
