Pontoon Beach, IL (August 29, 2008) The Northern Allstar Late Model Series rolled into Tri-City Speedway and provided one of the most exciting Super Late Model feature events hosted by Tri-City Speedway this season. Kevin Cole jumped out front at the drop of the green flag and led the first seven laps before being overtaken by Dennis Erb. Erb's lead would be short lived as Randy Korte moved in took the lead on lap ten. Korte and Erb would do battle for the next ten laps before Korte would be sidelined with a broken rear-end. Erb reassumed the lead after Korte's problems but again he would face a tough challenge. This time it would be Rodney Melvin that used the high side to take the lead from Erb. Melvin would proceed to lead up until lap thirty-five as Erb moved back into the lead. Erb would hold off the challenges of Melvin and Billy Faust in the closing laps to earn the victory. Faust would take second just ahead of Melvin who finished third. Mark Burgtorf would get the fourth spot and Mark Oller completed the top five.
In the UMP Modified division, Ray Walsh appeared to be on his way to victory, however, a broken rear-end would sideline him just past the half way point in the main event. Bobby Martintoni would take over the lead and not look back as he roared to his third victory of 2008 at Tri-City Speedway. Tim Hancock and Matt Goulden were battling for the second spot on the final lap when Goulden made contact with Hancock in turn four, sending Hancock spinning. Goulden would cross the finish line in second, but was placed to the back of all the cars on the lead lap along with Hancock in the final scoring. That would move up Brandon Lennox into the second place finishing spot. Joe Dresch, Casey Pearson and Don Grimm would complete the top five.

Bobby Dauderman earned his ninth UMP Pro Late Model feature win at Tri-City Speedway. Dauderman would make a pass for the lead on Casey Montague with just three laps remaining and go on to victory. Aaron Heck would finish third behind Montague with Darrel Moser taking fourth and Gordy Gundaker fifth.

Josh Jackson earned his fifth UMP Street Stock feature win of the season in a caution filled event that would only see seven of the schedule fifteen laps completed due to the event running past it's time limit. Richie Gabriel would get second with Danny Ems third. Steve Leach and Terry McCann completed the top five.

Rob Shaw fought off an early challenge from Chris Williams and cruised to victory in the UMP 4 Cylinder division. Williams would take second with Jason Schmidt, Ryan Eilers and Jon Ripperda completing the top five.
