Anderson Speeds to Fourth Ironman Late Model Win!

August 21, 2004; Granite City, IL – Justin Anderson bided his time, let bad luck befall the front runners and then fought his wayt to his fourth Dodge Ironman Late Model win Saturday at Tri-City Speedway.

Tom Krankel and Michael Kloos were engaged in a side by side battle for much of the opening rounds of the Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers Racing Series 25-lapper but as the pair rushed into turn one of the 11th lap, Kloos' attempted slide job took Krankel over the berm and out of contention. Both lost several position and as Anderson tried to catch up he tangled with Shanon Kuhn in t urn four, bringing out the caution. The resulting restart saw Krankel go back to his lead spot with Kloos sent to the rear. Kloos, vehemently disagreeing with the call, was disqualified from the event. When the race resumed Anderson peddaled hard and by lap 15 was right on Krankel's bumper. The two banged together in turn three of the last lap and as they exited four Anderson dove underneath for the win. Chasing him were Krankel, Steve Meyer, Jr., Kuhn and Terry James. Krankel and James won the heats.

Bert Jacoby put a pounding on the Mountain Dew Sportsman field, racing to a full straightaway lead at the checkers over Steve Maisel, Andy Casper, Don Patton and Sam Kizer. The win was Jacoby's third of the season. Jacoby and Maisel won the heats.

Tommie Seets, Jr., won his first career Budweiser Modified feature, topping Stu Springer, Tom Seets, Sr., Bobby Martintoni and Ed Lenhardt. Seets, Sr., Springer and Ray Walsh won the qualifiers.

Brandon Hogenson sped to his fourth Domino's Street Stock victory of the year ahead of Jason Stanton, David Parker, Andy Beavers and Mark Pflueger. The qualifiers fell to Dwayne Bateman, Ryan Meuth and Hogenson.

Aaron Wood won his seventh Auto Trader Factory Stock feature of the season, topping Todd Erickson, Ken Bell, Lloyd Donelson and Robert Crawford, Jr. The heats went to Donelson and Bell.
