Grayville, Illinois – October 19th, 2010 – After the completion of the UMP DIRTcar Pro Late Model Nationals, UMP DIRTcar officials impounded the top three finishers engines. Crews from Scott Weber, Bobby Pierce and Dustin Griffin had to immediately remove their engines at the completion of the main event under UMP DIRTcar official’s supervision. All three engines were completely disassembled and inspected to ensure they complied with GM specifications. Darren Hagen completed a sweep of the three-day DuPont Gold Crown Midget Nationals winning Saturday night’s 50-lap POWRi/USAC National co-sanctioned event at Tri-City Speedway. Hagen stayed near the front of the field for the entire race, leading only the final two circuits around the 3/8-mile high banked clay oval. Hagen passed Brad Kuhn for the lead on Lap 48, becoming the fourth different driver to lead the event. The event saw six different lead changes.

Darren Hagen opened up Night One of the DuPont Gold Crown Midget Nationals with a victory in the 25-lap feature, Thursday night at Tri-City Speedway. The three-day event is co-sanctioned by the USAC and POWRi National Midget Series drew forty-eight participants. Hagen driving the RFMS Racing owned Liberty Village/McGladrey & Pullen Spike/Esslinger Ford led all 25-laps, finishing ahead of USAC points leader Bryan Clauson, Bobby East, defending race winner Jerry Coons Jr., Chris Windom and POWRi points leader Brad Loyet.
