Pontoon Beach, IL (September 17th, 2010) Tim McCreadie took a huge gamble with tire choice and it paid off with a $7,000 jackpot at the Dodge Ram 50! McCreadie chose to go with the softest tires the UMP DIRTcar Series allows on all four corners of his machine, gambling that they would hold up for all fifty laps of the main event. After scouting out the track before the main event and noticing a lot of moisture around the bottom of the track, he made his decision and was the only one of the twenty three starters to go with the softer Hoosier LM20 tire all the way around on his machine.

Pontoon Beach, IL (September 3rd, 2010) A great field of 123 race cars were on hand to kick off their Labor Day weekend at Tri-City Speedway.

With a solid field of 25 UMP DIRTcar Super Late Models on hand, it didn't take long for the action to heat up. Michael Kloos and Rickey Frankel battled lap after lap for the entire twenty-five lap distance for the top spot. Frankel took the lead at the drop of the green flag, but Kloos found his way past Frankel for the lead on lap four, but the caution would wave before another lap could be completed and that would give Frankel the lead again on the restart. Frankel would take advantage of the situation and hold Kloos off for the remainder of the race, even though the race was slowed several times including a big six car wreck in turns three and four on lap nine. That crash would eliminate all six cars involved (Tim Ratajczyk, Dewaye Kiefer, Brent Kreke, Brant Kehrer, John Beck and Chad Zobrist) and cause tempers to flare. Mark Voigt also had a run of bad luck that all but ended his hopes of repeating as track champion in the Late Model division at Tri-City Speedway. Voigt lost a left rear tire while battling for the third spot. His crew would get the tire replaced under the caution, only to lose the left rear tire again later in the race. In the end, it was Frankel holding off the challenges of Kloos to earn the win. Kloos was second with Billy Laycock taking third. Bobby Pierce would finish in the fourth spot with Claude Walker rounding out the top five.
