Pontoon Beach, IL (October 1st, 2010) Darren Hagen backed up his opening night preliminary win at the Dupont Gold Crown Midget Nationals by winning again on the second night of preliminaries. Hagen started fourteenth in the main event and drove his RFMS Racing owned Liberty Village/McGladrey & Pullen Spike/Esslinger Ford past Jerry Coons for the lead on lap fifteen and held off Coon's challenges to regain the lead to earn the victory in the twenty-five lap main event.

Darren Hagen opened up Night One of the DuPont Gold Crown Midget Nationals with a victory in the 25-lap feature, Thursday night at Tri-City Speedway. The three-day event is co-sanctioned by the USAC and POWRi National Midget Series drew forty-eight participants. Hagen driving the RFMS Racing owned Liberty Village/McGladrey & Pullen Spike/Esslinger Ford led all 25-laps, finishing ahead of USAC points leader Bryan Clauson, Bobby East, defending race winner Jerry Coons Jr., Chris Windom and POWRi points leader Brad Loyet.
